Great Britain; England. William III. 1697 Sixpence. PCGS MS64. Silver. Third Bust, Large Crowns. S-3538; ESC-1566; KM-496.1.
Rex says: "This type is fairly available in higher mint state grades, but I have never seen an example with such full and vivid toning as this one exhibits. In hand it displays a lightly prooflike appearance not revealed in the images, with watery fields surrounding the devices and highlighting the vibrant blue color in the perimeters. For a coin of this age (over 300 years old), it is very rare to find toning that has hit this sweet spot of color and intensity. As such I do not think it would be exaggeration to call this piece one of the most, if not the most, desirable examples available of the type."
