Austrian States, Salzburg. 1681 3 Kreuzer, PCGS MS67. Silver.
A sharply struck gem minted on roller dies, lending a slightly concave shape to the planchet.
Rex says, "After searching through much of the PCGS population reports to no avail, I have concluded that this may very well be the oldest coin with a PCGS grade of MS67 or higher. This is not a grade that PCGS gives out readily for coins above even 200 years in age, and this piece is well beyond that."
PCGS Certification Number: 30198656
